Federico Bencivenni

Federico Bencivenni OFMCap (originally Mauro Bencivenni ; born January 22 or 24, 1759 in San Giovanni in Persiceto , † November 19, 1829 ) was an Italian religious and bishop .

Life

His parents were Vincenzo Bencivenni and Rosa Vendini. Mauro Bencivenni made his profession in the Capuchin order on March 22, 1776 in Cesena at the age of 17 , for which he had received the habit on March 23, 1773 , and took the religious name Federico da San Giovanni in Persiceto . He was ordained a priest on December 22, 1781. Between 1791 and 1801 he was lecturer in philosophy and theology in Ravenna , Faenza , Imola and Bologna . In 1803 he was appointed Apostolic Preacher by Pope Pius VII . In 1805 he was the bishops' examiner in theology.

Pope Pius VII appointed him Bishop of Bertinoro on April 14, 1817 . He was ordained bishop on April 20 of the same year by the Cardinal Bishop of Porto e Santa Rufina , Antonio Dugnani ; Co-consecrators were the archbishops Fabrizio Sceberras Testaferrata and Pietro Caprano . When the dioceses of Bertinoro and Sarsina merged on September 1, 1824, he became bishop of the latter.

Federico Bencivenni died five years later. He left a number of pastoral letters .
