Felix of Bourbon-Parma
Felix Prince of Bourbon-Parma (born September 28, 1893 in Schwarzau , † April 8, 1970 at Fischbach Castle ) came from the noble family of the Dukes of Bourbon-Parma and became Prince Consort of Luxembourg through his marriage .
Life
Felix von Bourbon-Parma was the son of the last Duke of Parma , Robert I (1848–1907) and his second wife Infanta Maria Antonia of Portugal (1862–1959). He was the brother of Zita , the last Austrian empress and Hungarian queen .
While his brothers Sixtus and Xaver served as Belgian officers during the World War , Prince Felix joined the Austrian Dragoon Regiment No. 15 as a war volunteer in the autumn of 1914 , in which he then advanced up to first lieutenant . He was mentioned a lot in November 1917 when he saved his brother-in-law, Emperor Karl of Austria-Hungary , from drowning in the Isonzo .
During the war in October 1918, he became engaged to the future Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg , the next oldest sister of Grand Duchess Maria-Adelheid of Luxembourg, born on January 23, 1896 .
Prince Felix married the Grand Duchess, who was his cousin, on November 6, 1919 in the Cathedral of Luxembourg . The couple had six children:

Felix was accepted into the Nassau House Order of the Golden Lion on October 27, 1919, shortly before his marriage to Charlotte . From 1922 to 1969 he was President of the Luxembourg Red Cross Society .
