Feltrinelli (Publisher)
Feltrinelli , or Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Editore , is a large Italian publishing house founded in 1954 by Giangiacomo Feltrinelli in Milan . He belongs to the Gruppo Feltrinelli .
Feltrinelli published important works of world literature , but is also known as a publisher of the Italian left. After the publisher's death in March 1972, his wife Inge Feltrinelli (1930-2018) took over the management of the publishing house, which is currently run by her son Carlo Feltrinelli (* 1962). From 1957 the publisher has continuously expanded into the book trade (Librerie Feltrinelli), online trade (LaFeltrinelli.it, Libreria IBS), promotion and book distribution (PDE Service, EmmeEffe Libri), and television (EFFE TV). Under the umbrella of the Gruppo Feltrinelli, the publishing house is associated with the research and cultural foundation Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli .
