Ferdinand Anton von Ahlefeldt

Ferdinand Anton Christian Graf von Ahlefeldt (born May 9, 1747 , † October 2, 1815 in Prague ) was a Danish diplomat .

Life

Ferdinand Anton von Ahlefeldt was the son of the general and war minister Count Conrad Wilhelm von Ahlefeldt (1707–1791) and his wife Wilhelmine Hedwig born. von Gram (* 1711). His wife was Maria Theresia geb. Princess of Thurn and Taxis (1755–1823), daughter of Alexander Ferdinand von Thurn and Taxis (1704–1773).

Von Ahlefeldt was a first lieutenant in the royal guard on foot and in 1765 became captain of the infantry. In the same year he was promoted to captain of the Danish body regiment and in 1766 became captain of the Royal Guard. From 1768 he was chamberlain and Hofjägermeister until he became lieutenant colonel and head of the royal cavalry regiment in 1771 . In 1777 he became a knight of the Dannebrog Order and was envoy to Oldenburg from 1776 to 1778 . From 1791 to 1793 he was a privy councilor in Naples , then ambassador to Berlin (1795) and envoy in Dresden (1798–1801). Von Ahlefeldt died in Prague in 1815, where his wife died on November 4, 1823.
