Ferdinando Sforzini (born December 4, 1984 in Rome ) is an Italian football player.

Career

First experience

Sforzini began his career in the youth clubs of SSC Napoli and was loaned to Lazio Rome as a youth . After the loan, he moved to US Sassuolo Calcio in 2003 , as he did not make a professional assignment for SSC Napoli after the loan and began his professional career as a footballer there. There he scored a total of nine goals in forty games. After he had gained his first professional experience at US Sassuolo Calcio, he moved to the Italian top club Udinese Calcio in the summer of 2005. This was followed by many loan periods at many clubs.

Lots of loan shops

In 2005 he was awarded to Hellas Verona in Serie B to gain more gaming experience . During his time in Verona, he made 35 games and scored five goals. There he became a fixture in the starting XI. For the 2006/07 season he was loaned to FC Modena . It was the second Serie B club he was loaned to. There he played thirty games and scored five goals. After Udinese had sold their top scorer Vincenzo Iaquinta , he had hopes of finally being used as a regular at Udinese Calcio , but nothing came of that and he was awarded to Vicenza Calcio in August 2007 . That meant another year in Serie B. In his six months at Vicenza, he made fourteen games and scored two goals. In the second half of the 2007/08 season he was loaned to the relegation-threatened club Ravenna Calcio , also playing in Serie B. Although he scored a total of nine goals in 21 games, that was not enough to keep relegation and so Ravenna Calcio had to relegate.

In August 2008 he was hoping for a move to Juventus Turin , who had been watching him for a long time, but the move did not take place and so he was loaned to US Grosseto . During his 6 months at US Grosseto, he was an integral part of the starting XI. He played 18 times and scored three goals. In January 2009, an exchange between US Grosseto and AS Avellino 1912 took place. Sforzini moved to Avellino, in return Alessandro Pellicori went to Grosseto.

At Avellino, he scored seven goals in twelve games. After a good six months with US Avellino , he returned to Udinese and was immediately awarded again, this time to the newly promoted club AS Bari . But some serious injuries threw him back, so that he has only appeared in a few appearances since his time at AS Bari.

After returning from Bari, Sforzini was loaned to the reigning Romanian champion CFR Cluj for six months in the summer of 2010 , where he only made three appearances. At the beginning of 2011 followed again a loan deal to US Grosseto in the series B .

Change of club after six years of various loan periods

At the end of the season Sforzini was firmly committed by Grosseto. During the winter break of the 2012/13 season he moved to Pescara Calcio . After a total of 30 league games and two goals for Pescara, he moved to league rivals US Latina for the 2014/15 season . With Latina he was in the penultimate place in the table in the 2014/15 season when he left the club in February 2015 for competitor Virtus Entella . There he was able to score six goals in the first six games and left the relegation zone with his new team. At the end of the season, his team had to be relegated, but later managed to stay in class. He only made four substitutions in the first half of the 2015/16 season . At the beginning of 2016 he moved to AC Pavia in the Lega Pro . From 2016 to the end of January 2018 he played for league rival US Viterbese 1908 . After some time without a club, he joined the Calcio Avellino SSD in September 2018 . In August 2019 he joined the third division Cavese 1919 for a few days and left the club after an assignment. In mid-September 2019, he moved to the fourth division team SSD Palermo . He completed 14 league games in which he scored 5 goals. The season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , which is why SSD Palermo was promoted to Serie C as the first-placed club . For the 2020/21 season , the SSD Palermo was renamed FC Palermo .
