The Freienwill telecommunications tower (also known as the Flensburg-Freienwill telecommunications tower, although Freienwill is not a district of Flensburg) is a reinforced concrete telecommunications tower built by Deutsche Telekom AG in 1974/75 on a hill near Höckeberg , in the municipality of Freienwill . The tower, designed as a type tower of type FMT 2/73, is one of the tallest type towers with a total height of 174 meters. The tower, which is not accessible to the public, serves not only for directional radio and the non-public land radio service, but also for broadcasting the following radio programs:

The tower, which is visible from afar, can still be seen clearly from the high Flensburg town hall , on the edge of the Flensburg city center , as well as from the Mürwiker water tower in the Flensburg public park .
