The Höckeberg ( Danish : Høgebjerg ) in the municipality of Freienwill is 82.4 m above sea level. NN the highest point of fishing in the northeast of Schleswig-Holstein .

The mountain name is derived from the Danish høg for hawk , the meaning is therefore Habichtberg . The Höckeberg is located in the municipality of Freienwill near Kleinwolstrup near the border with the municipality of Hürup on a watershed between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. The actual hilltop is located in a field. The topographical stone of the Höckeberg was relocated to the Kleinwolstruper Osterholz north of the hilltop and the height was re-entered because the stone hindered field work. The Höckeberg is part of an over seventy meter high hilly area of about 135 hectares, which slopes down to the north at Hürupholz , east at Hürupmühle and southwest towards the Oeversee . Several moraines that spread widely across the landscape from Tastrup and Weseby (see list of geotopes in the Schleswig-Flensburg district ) unite in this high altitude area.
The view from the Höckeberg is blocked by the above-mentioned Kleinwolstruper Osterholz in the north, another wood in the east and the neighboring hills that are almost equally high . On one of these hills, southeast of the hilltop, stands the Freienwill telecommunications tower . Near the transmission tower, the view obviously extends to Satrup and Sörup in the east and Grossenwiehe in the west. Flensburg cannot be seen from there due to the forest mentioned. In the south the telecommunications tower Schleswig can be seen in the distance . If the visibility is good, the Bredstedt telecommunications tower can also be seen in the distance. Because of the telecommunications tower in Freienwills, the Höckeberg is indirectly visible from afar. Its approximate location can therefore still be located from the high Flensburg town hall . At the edge of the ridge it is possible to look down into the valleys. The city of Flensburg is easily recognizable from the edge of the hill near the homesteads of Hürupholz, especially in the evening when the city is illuminated. To the west of the village of Kleinwolstrup, on the way to Munkwolstrup, there is a place from which you can see the spire of the Schleswig Cathedral in good weather, and to the south, the chimneys of Flensburg through a stern hole.
