The Kahlheid telecommunications tower is a 107 m high telecommunications tower owned by Deutsche Funkturm GmbH on the Kahlheid mountain ( 766  m above sea  level ) in the Idarwald ( Hunsrück ), on the border between the Bernkastel-Wittlich and Birkenfeld districts in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The tower stands a few meters northwest of the border between Morbach and Allenbach , about 390 m northeast of the Kahlheid summit , at an altitude of 767  m ; its peak is thus at 874  m above sea level. NN . It was built as a type tower FMT1 for the German Federal Post Office and is used, among other things, as an amateur radio relay location and directional radio as well as a base station for the mobile network.

Analog television
