Flieger, greet me the sun (Fliegerlied) is one of the most popular songs by Hans Albers ; the best known cover version comes from Extrabreit .
Emergence
The song comes from the 1932 UFA film F.P.1 does not answer . The music comes from the Arnold Schönberg student Allan Gray and the text from Walter Reisch . The song is sung in the early science fiction film by Hans Albers, who plays a "world pilot".
Cover versions
The song was first covered by the German band Extrabreit in 1980 . The B-side of the single contained the title Hurra, hurra, die Schule brennt , which was also released as a single in 1982 with the A- and B-sides reversed. In 1990 there was a remix by Oliver Momm for the label Metronome (former label of Extrabreit), which was first released as a single single (maxi CD) and finally with the album Zurück aus der Zukunft . Blümchen Blau covered the song in 1981. Scooter used the song in I'm Your Pusher (2000). In 2015 the Austrian group Allerseelen also released a version of this song on their CD Terra Incognita .
