Life

Pogba was born in Conakry , the capital of Guinea, in 1990 . He and the family fled to Roissy-en-Brie , France. His brothers Mathias and Paul are also soccer players. While he and Mathias play for the Guinean national soccer team, Paul plays for the French national soccer team .

Career

society

In 2007, the Spanish club Celta Vigo became aware of the then 17-year-old youth player. However, he did not make a competitive game for the professionals. So after two years he moved to France for CS Sedan . In March 2010 he signed his first professional contract there. On November 20, 2010, he played his first competitive game in the French Cup of the Coupe de France against the amateur club FC Steinseltz. A few months later, on February 5, 2011, he made his first game in Ligue 1 . On September 20, 2011, he made his first professional goal for the club in the league game against Troyes AC with a header after a corner kick .

In summer 2012 he moved to AS Saint-Étienne for 500,000 euros . He was loaned to CS Sedan for the remainder of the 2012/13 season. After his return to Sedan in 2013, Pogba initially fought for a regular place. On December 3, he scored his first goal for the club in the game against HSC Montpellier . At this point he had a good chance of becoming a regular in central defense. However, a serious injury stopped him while he was on the road with the national team. It was initially feared that he would miss the rest of the season, but he made his comeback on match day 36 against OGC Nice .

The Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara signed him for the second half of the 2017/18 season . In the case of the capital city, which is threatened by relegation, Pogba was very eccentric in nature. So he wanted to leave the field independently during the game against Antalyaspor, which was decisive in the relegation battle . As a result of this action he drew the displeasure of a large part of his teammates. After the club missed relegation, Pogba's contract, which was still valid for one year, was terminated prematurely by mutual agreement.

For the 2019 season, Pogba moved to Major League Soccer for Atlanta United . There he came to 16 MLS missions (10 times from the start) and 4 missions in the farm team Atlanta United 2 in the USL Championship . After the season he left the franchise.

National team

The then national coach Michel Dussuyer called Pogba into the Guinean national squad for a friendly against the Malian national team . In the second half of the game he made his first international match. In 2011 he was used in the tournament in Toulon for the U-20 national team of France , which the team lost 4-2 in the final on penalties. This was approved because he had not yet played a competitive game for the Guinean national team at the time. On March 24, 2013, he announced that he would now play for the Guinean national team. He made his first competitive game in a qualifier for the 2014 World Cup against the Mozambican national team .
