Florian König (born September 14, 1967 in Tübingen ) is a German presenter and sports reporter .

Life

After graduating from high school , König studied sport and journalism (without a degree). He then worked as a freelancer for Süddeutscher Rundfunk . In the 1991/92 season he reported for the ARD - Sportschau from the Bundesliga . He also reported on the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and in 1993 on the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart .

In August 1994, König moved from ARD to RTL . Here he took over the moderation of the Formula 1 broadcasts, often together with Niki Lauda . Since 1997 he has moderated all major boxing matches on RTL. He also represented Günther Jauch on RTL ski jumping broadcasts outside of the Four Hills Tournament . In 2006, König commented on games in the World Cup and the Four Hills Tournament on RTL. From November 2007 until the end of September 2013 he moderated the Kocharena together with Heiko Waßer at VOX . Since September 7, 2014, König has also moderated the supporting program for the European Championship qualifiers for the German national team together with Jens Lehmann on RTL.

He has been married since May 1997. The couple have two sons.

Others

He is the patron of the Ronald McDonald House of McDonald's Children's Aid in Tübingen.

König was a commentator on the FIFA series of computer games and EA Sports' soccer manager series from 2003-2005.
