Terminal 1, reception hall

The Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is the airport of the Finnish city of Tampere . It is located in the area of ​​the municipality of Pirkkala , about 12 kilometers southwest of Tampere. In terms of the number of passengers (208,930 in 2016), it is the eighth largest airport in Finland.

In addition to its function as an international airport, it is also a military base. The Finnish Air Force is also stationed in Pirkkala and conducts regular training flights from here.

Terminals

Tampere Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is used by Finnair , Air Baltic and SAS Scandinavian Airlines , among others . The low-cost airline Ryanair uses Terminal 2.

Airlines and Destinations

Finnair offers flights to Helsinki and Kittilä . The Finnair flights are partly operated by My Jet Xpress Airlines and partly by the Lithuanian charter airline DOT LT .

Regional Jet flies to Stockholm for SAS Scandinavian Airlines . Some of these flights are also sold by Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines .

Air Baltic operates flights to Riga from Tampere Airport .

Ryanair flies from Terminal 2 to Budapest .

Transport links

There is a regular public bus connection from the airport to Tampere (journey time 40 minutes) from Terminal 1 and a charter bus connection for Ryanair passengers (journey time around 25 minutes) from Terminal 2. In addition to regular taxis, a shared taxi service is also available. There is also a daily charter bus connection to Helsinki (travel time about 2.5 hours).
