The Focke-Wulf Fw 55 was a military training aircraft from Focke-Wulf .

The aircraft corresponds to the Albatros L 102 , which was designed by Walter Blume and which was produced as the Fw 55 after the forced merger of the Albatros Flugzeugwerke with Focke-Wulf , except for detailed changes . It was a stripped high-decker in composite construction with rigid normal landing gear. An Argus As 10 C with 240 hp was used as the drive . The two-man crew sat one behind the other in open seats. The tail unit had a rudder behind the horizontal stabilizer, a typical Blume design feature that was later used in some Arado designs.

The Fw 55 L was the land version , the Fw 55 W the sea version with two floats and a small extra wing.
