Folarin Yaoui Campbell (born February 27, 1986 in Lanham , Maryland ) is an American basketball player of Nigerian origin.

After studying in his home country, he played as a professional for one season in the first Italian league Lega Basket Serie A in Rieti in 2008 . From 2009 to 2011 he played two seasons in the German basketball league , first with the Artland Dragons and the following season with the Telekom Baskets Bonn . In March 2011 Campbell left Bonn and returned to Italy in April 2011. After a stopover at the Latvian BK Ventspils, Campbell will play again in Italy in the 2013/14 season, where he will also play in the top division Lega Basket Serie A for Enel Brindisi for the first time.

Career

Campbell first played at college for the Patriots of George Mason University , with whom he reached the 2006 Final Four tournament of the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship . His first club abroad was the Italian first division club Solsonica Rieti in 2008. The 2009/2010 season he was active with the Artland Dragons , but did not receive a new contract for the 2010/2011 season. At the beginning of August 2010, Telekom Baskets Bonn announced its one year commitment; his contract ended prematurely in March 2011.

In April 2011, the Italian second division team FastWeb Casale Monferrato announced the commitment of Campbell for the rest of the season, where he remained without use. After the rise of the northern Italians, he moved to the second division newcomer Pallacanestro Sant 'Antimo for the 2011/2012 season . For the 2012/2013 season, Campbell received no new contract in Italy and moved to BK Ventspils in Latvia in October . At the end of the season Campbell went back to Italy, where he got a contract for the 2013/14 season with the first division club and previous year's climber Enel Basket from Brindisi .

Private

Campbell has Nigerian ancestry, his name means "Walk with Glory" in English. He has a son, Folarin Cade.
