Foller , historically also Follert , is the name of a Prussian noble family .

history

The family is said to come from the Principality of Halberstadt and came to Prussia with the Teutonic Order . The family line begins with Hans von Foller in Prussia in the middle of the 16th century. His son Henry of Foller († 1593) was quartermaster of Duke Albrecht and Amtshauptmann to Neuhausen and established with the acquisition of mixing, Backelfeld, wigs, Zielkheim, Regitten, Mankau and Erkritten the outstretched Country Estate of the family, however, pending the outcome of 18 Century fell into strange hands. Later members of the family could excel in the army and administration. Benjamin von Foller (1760-1819) received the order Pour le Mérite in 1807 as a major in the Dragoon Regiment (No. 1) .

The coat of arms is divided , at the top in red an upright green vine leaf between two blue wine glasses placed at an angle , at the bottom in silver two wine glasses crossed at an angle inward. The upper shield figure on the helmet with red and silver covers . The Blasonierungen in JddA , in GHdA and Siebmachers armorials vary with the tincture of the glasses and the leaves and vines.
