Distribution of points

Scoring
space 1 2 3 4th 5 6th 7th 8th 9 10
Points 15th 12 10 8th 6th 5 4th 3 2 1

The five best results achieved were included in the evaluation. If several runs were held at an event, the points were obtained by adding the times of both runs.

useful information

  • The race in Sweden took place as part of the Swedish Grand Prix of the Motorcycle World Championship .
  • The motorcycles were driven with 350 cm³ two-stroke or 750 cm³ four-stroke motorcycles .
  • At Silverstone, Barry Sheene swapped his motorcycle between the two races. He was then excluded from the ranking for the second run and thus lost the eight points for third place. The following drivers were each promoted one place.
  • In Hockenheim, the original rating, according to which the addition of the times of the two runs was used to distribute the points, was challenged by Suzuki. A new system was then applied that awarded points for each run, adding them up to the overall score.
