Fotofinish is a German short film by Sönke Wortmann from his studies at the HFF in Munich . It premiered in 1986 at the Hof International Film Festival.

action

The unemployed Jupp is up to his neck, especially since he also has to look after his little daughter. On a TV evening with her, she looks at a book about airships and, among other things, about the accident involving the LZ 129 , the Hindenburg in Lakehurst. They speculate how rich the man who took the photo may have become. That gives Jupp the idea of staging something similar so that he is the only one to press the shutter release on his camera at the right moment. When trying to get explosives , however, he arouses the interest of the underworld, which also smells quick money.

The entire film and especially the final scene do not lack a certain anarchism . The inevitable association in this regard, which results from the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 in the USA , may be the reason why Sönke Wortmann's film has not been released on DVD or shown on television to this day.
