Francis Patrick Keough (born December 30, 1889 in New Britain , Connecticut , USA , † December 8, 1961 ) was Archbishop of Baltimore .

Life

Francis Patrick Keough received on 10 June 1916, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 10, 1934, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Providence . The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Amleto Giovanni Cicognani , ordained him episcopal on May 22 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Saint Paul , John Gregory Murray , and the Bishop of Fall River , James Edwin Cassidy .

On November 29, 1947, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to Archbishop of Baltimore. The inauguration took place on February 24, 1948.

During Keough's tenure, the new Metropolitan Cathedral of Baltimore was built , which he dedicated on November 15, 1959.
