Francisco Cota de Oliveira

Francisco Cota de Oliveira (born August 5, 1969 in Onça de Pitangui , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Sete Lagoas .

Life

Francisco Cota de Oliveira studied philosophy at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais from 1992 to 1994 and Catholic theology at the Institut Dom João Rezende Costa in Belo Horizonte from 1995 to 1998 . He received on 1 August 1999 by the Bishop of Divinópolis , José Belvino do Nascimento , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After his ordination, Francisco Cota de Oliveira first worked as the parish vicar of the parish of Nossa Senhora do Carmo in Carmo do Cajuru , before becoming its pastor in 2003 . In 2010 he became parish administrator and 2011 pastor of the parish of Sant'Ana in Itaúna . From 2016 Francisco Cota de Oliveira was pastor of the Nossa Senhora do Pilar in Pitangui and Dechant . He was also responsible for youth pastoral care in the diocese of Divinópolis and a member of the diocesan property management board. Francisco Cota de Oliveira also taught at the propaedeutic seminary and worked as a church attorney at the diocesan church court .

On June 7, 2017 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Fiorentino and auxiliary bishop in Curitiba . The Bishop of Divinópolis, José Carlos de Souza Campos , ordained him episcopal on August 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Curitiba, José Antônio Peruzzo , and the Bishop Emeritus of Divinópolis, José Belvino do Nascimento. The inauguration took place on September 8, 2017.

On June 10, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Sete Lagoas. The inauguration took place on August 1 of the same year.
