José Belvino do Nascimento

José Belvino do Nascimento (born December 29, 1932 in Mercês - † January 8, 2019 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Divinópolis .

Life

José Belvino do Nascimento was ordained a priest on December 2, 1956 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Itumbiara on June 27, 1981 . The Archbishop of Mariana , Oscar de Oliveira , donated him episcopal ordination on September 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José de Lima , Bishop of Sete Lagoas , and Hélio Gonçalves Heleno , Bishop of Caratinga .

On February 6, 1987, he was appointed coadjutor bishop of Divinópolis . With the resignation of José Costa Campos on February 27, 1989, he succeeded him as Bishop of Divinópolis and was introduced to the office on April 5 of the same year. On February 11, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
