Francisco Ozoria Acosta

Francisco Ozoria Acosta (born October 10, 1951 in Nagua , Dominican Republic ) is a Dominican clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Santo Domingo .

Life

Francisco Ozoria Acosta received on 2 September 1978, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 1, 1997, Pope John Paul II appointed him first bishop of the diocese of San Pedro de Macorís, which was established on the same date . The Archbishop of Santo Domingo , Nicolás de Jesús Cardinal López Rodríguez , donated him episcopal ordination on March 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Santiago de los Caballeros , Juan Antonio Flores Santana , and the Bishop of San Francisco de Macorís , Jesús María de Jesús Moya .

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Santo Domingo on July 4, 2016. The inauguration took place on September 10th of the same year. On January 2, 2017, he was also appointed military bishop of the Dominican Republic .
