Career

Rodríguez made his Super League debut on July 20, 2014 against Grasshopper Club Zurich .

On July 22, 2015 Rodríguez moved to the German Bundesliga for VfL Wolfsburg , where he met his brother Ricardo . He received a contract that ran until June 30, 2018. On December 19, 2015, he made his Bundesliga debut for Wolfsburg in the 1: 3 defeat at VfB Stuttgart .

On August 31, 2016, Wolfsburg terminated the loan agreement with Arminia Bielefeld and loaned him to Switzerland to FC Luzern in the Super League until the end of June 2017 . For the 2017/18 season he was firmly committed and given a contract until June 30, 2020.

National team

Rodríguez played for several Swiss national U-teams before he decided in summer 2015 to play for Chile , unlike his brother . He turned down the nomination of the Chilean national team for the internationals against Haiti and Mexico in September 2014, but he accepted the invitation for the international match against Paraguay . Only a few days later, he reversed this decision and initially turned down Chile's invitation in order to concentrate on Switzerland's U-21 selection .
