Francisco Sousa dos Santos , called Chiquinho , (born July 27, 1989 in Caxias , Maranhão ) is a Brazilian football player . The left-footed player is used on the left defensive side or in the left midfield .

Career

Chiquinho started his career in the youth division of Atlético Mineiro in Belo Horizonte . In 2009 he made the leap into the professional squad here. On February 28, 2009 he came against the Uberlândia EC in the state championship of Minas Gerais for his first use. In the same competition, the player scored his first goal as a professional. In the 2-1 win over Villa Nova AC , he scored the winning goal in the 84th minute. In the same year he got his first assignment in the league operation of the Series A . On June 11, 2009 he played from the start to half-time against FC Santos . The game at international club level in the same year lasted only 2 minutes for the player. In the Copa Sudamericana 2009 he was substituted on August 27 in the game against Goiás EC in the 88th minute. At the end of the 2009 season he was loaned to various lower-class clubs until 2012. In mid-2012 he was permanently taken over by Corinthians São Paulo . The player changed again at the end of the season .

His next stop was the AA Ponte Preta in 2013 . With this he played in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A 2013 almost all games and scored his first goal in the top division. On June 6, 2010 in the game against Athletico Paranaense he scored the 1-0 in the 23rd minute (the result was 2: 3). With the club he reached the final of the Copa Sudamericana 2013 . Here they were defeated by CA Lanús 1: 3 on a return leg. At the end of the year, Chiquinho changed clubs again. His way went to the Fluminense Rio de Janeiro .

At FLU , Chiquinho played a total of 46 games in various competitions in 2014, in which he scored a goal. The player also left FLU at the end of the season to join FC Santos for 2015 . With Santos, he celebrated his first title win in 2015 by winning the São Paulo state championship .

On January 6, 2016, it was announced that Chiquinho was joining Flamengo Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 season. Chiquinho then moved to Japan . He went to Shonan Bellmare , with whom he competed in the J2 League . Six months later, Chiquinho switched to league rivals Ōita Trinita . At the end of the year he was drawn back to Brazil. He was signed by AD São Caetano for the games in the Campeonato Paulista 2018 . At the start of the 2018 championship round, Chiquinho was signed by Coritiba FC for Série B. After he had to undergo knee surgery in August that year, he came back to work in mid-September. In total, he ran in 23 games and scored two goals. After the season ended, his contract was not renewed. Chiquinho signed a new one-year contract with Meizhou Hakka in the Chinese second division .

Chiquinho left the club in June of that year. He went back to Brazil where he joined the EC Vitória .
