Frank Foss
Frank Foss (born May 9, 1895 in Chicago , † April 5, 1989 in Hinsdale , Illinois ) was an American pole vaulter who was successful after the First World War . The athlete, who started for the AA Chicago, set two world records and won Olympic gold in 1920.

- US champions 1919 with 12'9 "(= 3.88 m) and 1920 with 13'2" (= 3.99 m)
- World best with 4.05 m on August 23, 1919 in Chicago (no official world record)
- Winner of the Olympic eliminations in 1920 with 13-1
- GOLD at the VI. Olympic Games 1920 in Antwerp with 4.09 m (world record) ahead of the Dane Henry Petersen (silver) with 3.70 m and his compatriot Edwin Myers (bronze) with 3.60 m
