Sabin Carr

Sabin William Carr (born September 4, 1904 in Dubuque , Iowa , † September 12, 1983 in Santa Barbara , California ) was an American track and field athlete who was successful in the pole vault in the 1920s . Carr, who started for the University of Yale, was IC4A champion (US American high school championship) three times in a row from 1926 to 1928 . He jumped world records and won Olympic gold in 1928. He went down in history as the first 14-foot jumper (4.27 m).

Sabin Carr had a competition weight of 76 kg with a height of 1.85 m.
