Thiago Braz

Thiago Braz da Silva (born December 16, 1993 in Marília ) is a Brazilian pole vaulter .

In 2012 he won the Junior World Championships in Barcelona .

In 2013 he set a South American record at the South American Championships in Cartagena with 5.83 m. At the World Championships in Moscow , he was eliminated in qualification.

He finished fourth at the 2014 World Indoor Championships in Sopot .

In 2015 he stayed at the Pan American Games in Toronto without a valid attempt and did not get beyond the preliminary round at the World Championships in Beijing .

In 2016, at the age of 22 and the new Olympic record of 6.03 m in Rio de Janeiro in front of a home crowd, he became Olympic champion in the pole vault.
