Frank Reichel (born July 16, 1978 ) is a former German ski jumper .

Career

Reichel started ski jumping at an early age. He made his first jump in 1987 on the hill in Oberwiesenthal . He completed his first World Cup competition on December 2, 1995 in Lillehammer . He finished jumping on the normal hill on the 45th place. On December 8th, he was able to win his first World Cup points in Villach with 20th place. At the Junior World Cup in 1996 in Asiago , Italy , Reichel won the gold medal with the team. Besides him, the team also included Alexander Herr , Michael Uhrmann and Kai Bracht . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1997 in Trondheim , Norway , Reichel came 36th on the normal hill. Two weeks earlier he had achieved the best individual result in a World Cup competition in his career with 4th place in the World Cup competition in Willingen . Since he could not repeat these successes, he jumped on January 20, 2001, his last World Cup competition in Park City . Then he jumped in the Continental Cup until April 2004 and was able to regularly jump into the points. His last competition was the Continental Cup competition on February 8, 2004 in Zakopane , Poland , where he was 21st.
