Frank Stauss

Frank Stauss (born February 15, 1965 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German copywriter, political advisor and author.

education

Stauss studied political science at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg (1988–1990), as a scholarship holder of the Fulbright Commission at the George Washington University in Washington, DC (1990–1992) and at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin (1993). During his studies, from January to the end of March 1990, Stauss worked for the SPD party executive in its Berlin office to support the development of the Social Democratic Party in the GDR . As a student, Stauss worked in 1992 in the National Speakers Bureau, the central speaker for the Clinton / Gore campaign . He processed his experiences there in a memorandum in 1992 to the then SPD leader Björn Engholm , which was published in 1993 in parts in Focus .

Agency work

In March 1993, Stauss began working as a copywriter for the advertising agency BUTTER. The agency worked for the SPD party executive and Stauss accompanied the SPD national and European election campaigns there in 1994. Between 1997 and 2018 he was creative director there and one of the managing partners with Oliver Lehnen and Rolf Schrickel. In 1995, Stauss was temporarily “Grouphead Copy” at the former US agency D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles.

In addition to his work for various commercial companies, Stauss and his agency accompanied election campaigns at state and federal level, including the campaigns for Klaus Wowereit (2001, 2006, 2011), Gerhard Schröder (2005), Peer Steinbrück (2005), Hannelore Kraft (2010, 2012) , 2016), Frank-Walter Steinmeier (2009), Olaf Scholz (2011, 2015), Kurt Beck (2006, 2011), Dieter Reiter (2014), Malu Dreyer (2016) and Michael Müller (2016). In 2013, Stauss and his agency accompanied the campaign for the National Council election of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and Michael Spindelegger .

In April 2018 he founded the Berlin Stauss GmbH for Strategic Communications , which he then in July 2018 the former Managing Director of Jung von Matt / Spree, Mathias Richel in Richel, Stauss GmbH for Strategic Communications changed. The agency supported the SPD strategically and communicatively in the 2019 European elections .

Others

Stauss published his experiences in election campaigns in May 2013 on dtv under the title Hell Ride Election Campaign - An Insider Report , with which he landed a Spiegel bestseller.

Stauss is a lecturer at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . He is co-producer of the short film Hotel Paradijs (2007) by the German director Jan Krüger .

Frank Stauss lives in Berlin with his partner Daniel Solbach.

Frank Stauss appears regularly in public, including as an interview partner in news programs on ARD , ZDF , N-24 and n-tv or as a guest on talk shows by Günther Jauch , Maybrit Illner , Markus Lanz and Thadeusz .
