Frank Vytrisal (born December 10, 1966 in Darmstadt ) is a former German triathlete .
Career
Frank Vytrisal was active in swimming in his youth and started triathlon in 1993. He started for the StartNet team DSW Darmstadt in the Triathlon Bundesliga.
From 1988 to 1992 he studied plastics technology and then from 1992 to 1997 mechanical engineering and sport as a commercial teacher training course. Since 1997 he has been teaching metal technology and sport at the Erasmus Kittler School in Darmstadt.
In February 2008, he took time off from school to be active as a professional athlete. The full-time teacher at the Erasmus Kittler School in Darmstadt was named by the FAZ as an “amateur who teaches the professionals to fear”.
In August 2011, after the race in Regensburg, he announced the end of his professional career and announced that he would be back in school in autumn. In November 2011, at the age of 44, he started again at Ironman Florida , where he finished fifth with the fastest cycling time.
Frank Vytrisal lives with his wife in Darmstadt . He has been running the endurance sports portal 4athletes.com since August 2012.

- In 2008 he was third behind Daniel Unger and Chris McCormack in the election for "Triathlete of the Year".
