The Therme Hersbruck (until October 2010 Frankenalbtherme , since then Fackelmann Therme Hersbruck ) is a thermal and leisure pool opened on December 18, 2004 in Hersbruck (Middle Franconia).

history

As part of a diploma thesis it was found out that there could be natural thermal water under Hersbruck . During the drilling carried out in 2000, 40,000 year old thermal water was found at a depth of 700 m. Thereupon an architectural competition for a thermal bath was announced. As the winner, the Nuremberg architect Thomas Glöckner was commissioned to build the Frankenalbtherme. The city of Hersbruck, as the sole owner of the Frankenalbtherme, bore the entire construction costs of € 20.5 million. In 2003, the 18-month construction of the pool began, under Walter Bau AG as general contractor. It was officially inaugurated on April 16, 2005 by the then Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Günther Beckstein . In October 2010, the Frankenalbtherme during prolonged maintenance work, initially for five years after the was the largest local employer and sponsor in Fackelmann Therme renamed. In January 2014, the patronage was extended prematurely for a further 5 years. The thermal bath is operated by Fackelmann Therme Hersbruck GmbH & Co. KG and employs around 80 people. The city of Hersbruck is the sole shareholder. Since the bathroom causes an annual deficit of 1.3 to 1.4 million euros, the additional annual funding of 100,000 euros, with which the district of Nürnberger Land has subsidized the company since 2003, has been continued for an initial five years with 70,000 euros annually since 2013.

location

The Hersbruck thermal baths are located next to the city's outdoor pool . The operator is aware that the facility is located on the grounds of the former Hersbruck satellite camp . However, the location was chosen because it made it possible to connect the thermal baths and the outdoor swimming pool, which was also renovated as part of the construction of the thermal baths. The thermal baths should be the center and center of attraction of the health region Hersbrucker Land . This was funded by the European Union through the LEADER + program and roughly covers the former district of Hersbruck . It is intended to attract health tourists through various offers .

Furnishing

In the thermal bath there are 2 indoor pools with 34 ° warm thermal water as well as a steam bath. In the outside area, which has been integrated into the Pegnitzauen and offers a clear view of the Pegnitz and the surrounding hills, there is another basin with 36 ° warm thermal water. A sauna area has six different saunas with temperatures between 50 ° C and 100 ° C both indoors and outdoors.

In the sports and adventure pool, guests will find a 25 m swimming pool , an attraction pool with a flow channel and bubble jets, a water kindergarten with a shuttle canal and an 80 m long slide . In summer, the city's outdoor pool is attached to the thermal baths.

Physiotherapeutic and Ayurvedic applications, massages, relaxation baths and cosmetic treatments are available in an affiliated wellness area.

Thermal water

The Hersbruck thermal water meets the legal requirements for natural healing water . It is a sodium chloride thermal water with a mineral content of 14.2 g / l and a temperature of 29.4 ° C when it emerges from the well head. The water is supposed to promote mobility and blood circulation and to have positive effects on diseases of the musculoskeletal system and internal organs as well as skin diseases. The components indicate that the state-approved medicinal water is at least partially of "marine origin", i. H. comes from a prehistoric sea.
