Frankfurt Music Prize

The Frankfurt Music Prize has been awarded since 1982 by the joint foundation of Musikmesse Frankfurt and the Federal Association of German Musical Instrument Manufacturers. This international music prize is intended to highlight “musical personalities for special achievements in interpretation and composition, in musicology and teaching” (according to self-portrayal). The award is given annually to personalities from the world of music in the fields of popular music and classical music . It is endowed with 15,000 euros. The award ceremony takes place on the evening before the Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt am Main.
