František Ptáček (born April 4, 1975 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player , who was active for many years for HC Sparta Prague , HC Energie Karlovy Vary , HC České Budějovice , Mountfield HK and HC Kometa Brno in the Czech extra league and played a total of 1210 Extraliga games. He is second behind Petr Kadlec in the record player list of the Extraliga.

Career

František Ptáček began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC Sparta Prague . In the 1993/94 season he made his debut in the newly formed Czech Extraliga for the professional team from Sparta . At the same time, he also played several games for the city neighbor HC Slavia Prague in the first division , the second Czech division. In the following nine years, the defender was able to establish himself as a regular in the Extraliga team from Sparta, with whom he won the Czech championship title in the 1999/2000 and 2001/02 seasons . In 2000 he was also named Most Sportsmanlike Player in the Extraliga.

For the 2003/04 season Ptáček moved within the top Czech division to HC Energie Karlovy Vary . There he also became the Most Sportsmanlike Player of the Extraliga in the first year. From the 2004/05 season he was also team captain at HC Energie. Towards the end of the 2005/06 season he returned to HC Sparta Prague, with whom he was again Czech champion at the end of the season. At his hometown club he immediately took on a leading role and was team captain from 2006 to 2008. Towards the end of the 2008/09 season he was committed by league rivals HC České Budějovice , with whom he achieved relegation in relegation. At HC České Budějovice, the veteran was also the team captain from 2010 to 2012. During the 2012/13 season , he replaced Josef Řezníček as the current record player in the Extraliga.

In October 2015 he was loaned to HC Kladno from the Czech first division and ultimately played there until the end of the 2016/17 season. For the 2017/18 season he returned to HC Sparta Prague as a junior coach.

On January 30, 2018, he played his last and 1210th Extraliga game.

International

For Czechoslovakia Ptáček took part in the U18 Junior European Championship in 1993 . For the Czech Republic he took part in the Euro Hockey Tour in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 .
