history

The Meierhof Franzenshof was established in 1864 by the owner of the Kolin manor , Franz Horsky von Horskysfeld, in the fields between Ovčáry and Sendražice. Horsky named the farm, which was conceived as an agricultural model estate, with American bulk flooring, after himself and entrusted the management of the farm to his son-in-law Josef Richter.

In accordance with the last will of the founder, the widow Karoline Horsky von Horskysfeld transferred the farm to Horsky's grandson Adolf Richter in 1877. In 1894 Richter had the narrow-gauge Kolin beet railway laid from Jestřabí Lhota via Eleonorenhof , Býchory and Sendražice to the Kolín sugar factory, and in 1895 a 900 m long siding to Franzenshof , where a loading point, was installed from the switch at the Black Bridge ( Černý most ) on Hluboký potok arose, erect. Adolf Richter sold the Franzenshof to Václav Zástěra in 1895, but bought it back in 1910 at a higher price. In 1924 his widow Zdena Richterová inherited the property; she leased the farm in 1928 to a Mr. Miláček from Ovčáry.

After the February revolution , the Richter family was expropriated in 1948 and the farm was converted into a state property. Zdena Richterová emigrated to Italy with her daughters, where she died in 1967. In 1950 the JZD "Rudý prapor" Ovčáry took over the farm. She had the farm rebuilt and expanded in the 1960s. The beet railway was shut down in 1966 and the tracks leading to Františkov were removed. In 1973 the JZD "Nástup" Jestřabí Lhota and JZD "Rozkvět" Býchory were merged with the JZD "Rudý prapor", so that they cultivated the fields of 13 municipalities. After the Velvet Revolution , the JZD "Rudý prapor" was dissolved in 1991. Today Františkov is the seat of the Zemědělské Obchodní Družstvo Zálabí ( Peasant Trade Cooperative Zálabí )

From the original courtyard, the brick floor on the other side of the street as well as the administration building, which was rebuilt in the 1960s and is now used by the community as accommodation and community library, have been preserved.
