Franz Adolf Zölch (born January 29, 1949 ; resident in Schelten and Bern (Burgergemeinde)) is a Swiss media lawyer and ice hockey official .

Life

Zölch studied law at the University of Bern, where he graduated in 1976 with a licentiate . He also studied journalism and journalism in Bern, Zurich and Freiburg. From 1976 to 1983 he was employed in the law office of Hans W. Kopp in Zurich and worked temporarily on a dissertation on communication law. Zölch has owned a practice for copyright , publishing , media and advertising law in Bern since 1983 . He also worked as a lecturer at the media training center MAZ , the University of Italian Switzerland and the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland . In 1991 he and his then wife Elisabeth Zölch Burger of the city of Bern and members of the society became shipmen . From 1995 to 2006 Zölch was President of the Swiss Ice Hockey Nationalliga GmbH. In the Swiss Army , he was Brigadier Chief of the Army Information Service.

In 2005 his marriage to the politician Elisabeth Zölch was divorced.

Swiss media have been reporting on Franz A. Zölch's financial problems since 2008. He was convicted of fraud in September 2015. In 2017 the media reported that Zölch had debts of five to ten million francs and had gone into hiding in the face of numerous debt enforcements. In 2019, the Bern public prosecutor's office again brought charges against Zölch for fraud in eight cases.
