Franz Bernhard Weisshaar

Franz Bernhard White Hair (* 10. October 1933 in Augsburg ) is a German theologian and emeritus professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .

Life

After graduating from high school near St. Stephan in Augsburg, Weißhaar studied philosophy at the Philosophical College of the same name (1952–1954) and Catholic theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (1954–1958). From 1958 to 1963 he studied painting - as a guest also in the metal class - at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . In 1963 and 1965 he passed the state examinations for teaching at grammar schools. From 1965 to 1978 he was an art teacher at grammar schools in Augsburg, Münnerstadt and Munich. From 1953 to 1970 he was a member of the convent of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Stephan in Augsburg.

In 1978, he received a call on the Department of Christian Art - Color Royal and spatial design especially of cult rooms. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. There was considerable resistance from the professorial college , the Deutscher Künstlerbund , represented by its chairman Otto Herbert Hajek , and the students of the Munich Art Academy against the appeal, which came from the then Minister of Culture Hans Maier . The professional suitability of Weißhaar was questioned. In 2000 Weißhaar retired.
