Franz Bläsi

Franz Josef Bläsi (born March 29, 1893 in Schönau in the Black Forest , † November 14, 1963 in Kandel ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Franz Bläsi was born the son of a hat maker. After attending the elementary and community school in Schönau in the Black Forest, the Realschule in Schopfheim and the Oberrealschule in Freiburg im Breisgau , he began studying mathematics , physics , chemistry (mineralogy) and geology at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg in 1913 , which he completed in February 1919 with the state examination for higher teaching post. He had to interrupt his studies from 1917 to 1918 when he served in the Landsturm during the First World War . Bläsi had been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1913. Bläsi completed an internship for teaching at the Schloss-Gymnasium in Bruchsal from 1919 to 1920 and then worked there as a teaching assistant. In April 1927 he was appointed professor and civil servant for life. He then worked as a teacher at the Schloss-Gymnasium until 1941 and as a teacher at the Realgymnasium in Karlsruhe-Durlach from 1941 to 1945 . From 1926 to 1933 he was a member of the Bruchsal city ​​council .

After the Second World War , Bläsi joined the CDU. In July 1945 he was appointed mayor of the city of Bruchsal by the American military government , elected by the city council in June 1946 and confirmed in office by popular election in February 1948. In 1954 he was re-elected as mayor. After the population had exceeded the 20,000 mark in 1955, Bruchsal was appointed mayor on April 1, 1956, the large district town and Bläsi on the same day . He then exercised this function until his death.

In 1946, Bläsi was a member of the provisional parliament and the state constituent assembly in Württemberg-Baden . On February 23, 1949, he replaced the late MP Heinrich Köhler in the state parliament of Württemberg-Baden , of which he was a member until 1952. From 1952 to 1953 he was a member of the state constitutional assembly and then until 1956 a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament .

Franz Bläsi had been married to Elisabeth Winterhalter (1896–1966) since 1920 and had nine children.
