Franz Cromme (born October 9, 1939 in Vechta ; † March 12, 2020 ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1959, Cromme began studying law and economics at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin and Münster , which he completed with an examination as a graduate economist . In Freiburg he became a member of the K.St.V. Brisgovia Freiburg in KV , in 1961 he joined the K.St.V. Markomannia , in Berlin the K.St.V. Tannenberg-Koenigsberg . In 1963 he passed the first state examination in law and in 1965 the examination for a degree in economics. He was promoted to Dr. jur. doctorate (dissertation: The quantitative recording of monopoly abuse and monopoly position in § 22 GWB ) and passed his second state examination in 1968. He then worked as a freelance lawyer in a law firm in Vechta.

From 1971 he was first city director, then from 1977 to 1986 senior city director of the city ​​of Delmenhorst . Between 1986 and 1988 he worked as State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice and was then State Secretary in the Environment Ministry in Lower Saxony until 1990. From 1990 he was commercial director of an energy supplier in Frankfurt / Oder. He worked as a lawyer with a focus on commercial administrative law, local law and EU law at the major law firm Graf von Westfalen. In addition, he worked as a lecturer for public law and European law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) .

Cromme died on March 12, 2020.

Cromme joined the Junge Union in 1956 and became a member of the CDU in 1959. Between 1959 and 1960 he was on the student council of the University of Freiburg. In 1966 he became deputy district chairman of the CDU in the Vechta district , and in 1969 first district chairman in Vechta. In the same year he became deputy chairman of the CDU regional association in Oldenburg .

Cromme was initially elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament for the 6th electoral term on June 6, 1967 , to which he was a member until April 20, 1971 after being re-elected to the 7th electoral term. There he was a member of the Committee for Economics and Transport.

From August 16, 1986 to January 31, 1988 he served as State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, from February 1 to November 9, 1988 as State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and from November 9, 1988 to June 21, 1990 as State Secretary in the Ministry of the Environment in the government of Lower Saxony led by Prime Minister Ernst Albrecht .
