Franz Hirschfeld

Franz Hirschfeld (born December 3, 1893 in Stettin , † January 31, 1979 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Franz Hirschfeld graduated from high school and studied law and political science at the universities of Berlin and Breslau . In 1914 he passed the first state examination in law. The following year he was a soldier confiscated . After the First World War , Hirschfeld passed the 2nd state examination and received his doctorate in 1922 as Dr. jur. He first worked as a syndic in industry, later as a legal advisor in the Reichsdienst . In 1925 he joined the SPD. With the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in 1933 he became a foreign exchange advisor. He was drafted into the service in World War II .

After the war, Hirschfeld first became an employee of the German administration for labor and social welfare in the Soviet occupation zone , from 1946 he was legal advisor in the Berlin district office of Schöneberg . In the first Berlin election in 1946 , Hirschfeld was elected chairman of the assembly in the Schöneberg district council. In the following election in 1948 he was elected to the Berlin city council, but left in March 1949. In the 1950 election he was also elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, but left again in September 1954, as he became Senate Director as press chief of the Berlin Senate .
