Life

After graduating from high school in 1947 in Dillingen an der Donau , he studied law and political science at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen from 1948 to 1952 and graduated in 1952 with the first state examination in law. Since 1950 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Guestfalia Tübingen in the CV . In addition, he studied economics in Tübingen from 1952 to 1954. He began his legal preparatory service in 1955 and completed it in 1958 with the major legal state examination in Stuttgart. In 1969 he was at the University of Würzburg in Günther Küchenhoff to Dr. iur. PhD.

Dannecker was treasurer and legal advisor of the CSU and was a member of the presidium and state board as well as chairman of the statute committee of the party. As his lawyer , he was considered one of the closest confidants of Franz Josef Strauss . In 1967, Strauss proposed him as Secretary General of the CSU, but his proposal failed because of the CSU parliamentary group, which Max Streibl preferred. Dannecker did not make the choice.

In 2010 Karlheinz Schreiber , who was accused of fraud and bribery, testified before the Augsburg Regional Court that in 1991 he paid around 1.4 million marks in five parts either to Dannecker, then CSU legal advisor, or on his instructions to a Swiss numbered account . The money had originated in commissions from the business between Thyssen and Saudi Arabia for Fuchs armored paid. However, the Augsburg public prosecutor's office doubted that Dannecker's charge could be proven: "Interestingly, the only witness is again a dead person."
