Franz Krammer (theologian)

Franz Krammer (born December 3, 1748 in Gayring , † October 22, 1818 in Gran ) was an Austrian theologian , canon and university professor .

Life

Few details are known about the life story of Krammer. Krammer studied theology and philosophy in Vienna . He was first professor of church history at the seminary in Raab in 1771 , ten years later in 1781 professor of dogmatics and patristics in Ofen . From there he went on to Pressburg . There he went to the theological seminary and in 1796 became parish priest and canon at the Preßburger Martinsdom . In 1802 he finally went to the Cathedral of St. Adalbert in Gran as canon . He had to retire from teaching earlier than usual for health reasons, but continued to publish writings.
