Franz Kreimer (born September 26, 1972 in Weiz ) is an Austrian musician . His main instruments are the saxophone , keyboards and synthesizers . He became famous as a member of the Austrian bands Ausseer Hardbradler and Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung , and he also works as a studio musician for various artists.

biography

Born in Weiz, Austria, Kreimer attended a music school as a child, where he began playing the accordion . Later he took one year each of the piano and the Styrian harmonica . He later studied classical saxophone and graduated as a music teacher for folk musical instruments such as the Styrian harmonica, accordion and dulcimer . In 1994 he became the keyboardist of the Ausseer Hardbradler and recorded five studio albums with the group until he left in 2004. In 2001 Kurt Keinrath proposed him as a successor to the First General Uncertainty (EAV) after the departure of the two keyboardists Andy Töfferl and Franz Zettl . Kreimer has been a member of the group since then. In addition to piano and keyboard , Kreimer also plays the saxophone.

In addition to his work at EAV, Kreimer works as a guest musician for various bands. Since the end of the 2000s he has been a member of Scurdia, the world music project of the Austrian pianist Markus Schirmer , and in 2012 he played the Geschwisterliebe program live with the Dornrosen .
