Franz Wilhelm Lamprecht (* 1951 in Düsseldorf ) is a German choir director and conductor .

Life

Lamprecht studied in the Kapellmeister class at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and founded his first choir during his training. He passed the exam "with distinction". Regular concert tours and guest conductor and his choirs in the following years, among other things, to London , Brussels , Rome , Salzburg , Paris , Israel , Bulgaria , Poland , Romania , Hungary , Czech Republic and in the Slovak Republic , the United States and to Mexico . He recorded rare works by Charles Gounod , Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Max Bruch for Electrecord.

Choirs and orchestras

Lamprecht leads several choirs in the Düsseldorf region , which often perform together with two Romanian orchestras at concerts and music festivals in Germany and abroad.

Oratorios Choir Hilden

As the first choir, Lamprecht founded the Hilden Oratorio Choir in 1974, which currently has around 105 singers. Works such as Beethoven's 9th Symphony , Mozart's Requiem , Handel's Messiah and Orff's Carmina Burana soon became part of the standard repertoire.

Choir of the State Government of Düsseldorf

Tonhalle Düsseldorf

In 1977 he founded the choir of the state government of Düsseldorf , which comprises around 80 singers. The repertoire includes sacred and secular choral music, especially masses and oratorios , but also excerpts from operas and operettas.

Chamber choir Düsseldorf-Urdenbach

In 1987 Lamprecht founded a new choir in the south of Düsseldorf with around 65 singers. Together with the other choirs, sacred and secular choral works are performed in concert halls such as the Tonhalle Düsseldorf or the historic town hall in Wuppertal , in churches such as the Neviges pilgrimage cathedral and even in the Balver cave .

Romanian State Philharmonic "Dinu Lipatti" Satu Mare

The orchestra and its 65 musicians give around 80 concerts each year. Franz Lamprecht was "Principal Guest Conductor" from 1993 to 1998 and since 1999 he has been chief conductor of the Romanian State Philharmonic "Dinu Lipatti" Satu Mare . On January 1, 2001 he was appointed music director of Satu Mare by the city and district parliament.

Târgu Mureș Philharmonic Orchestra

The prehistory of the orchestra began in 1823 when the first symphony orchestra was established in Neumarkt am Mieresch in Transylvania , which at that time was still made up of amateurs and semi-professionals. Famous personalities made guest appearances in Târgu Mureș: Pablo Casals , Béla Bartók , Jan Kubelík , Joseph Szigeti , George Enescu, etc. In 1950 the ensemble became a state orchestra with its current name. Since the autumn of 1991 the orchestra has made regular guest appearances in the Rhineland under the direction of Lamprecht, who has meanwhile become “Principal Guest Conductor”.

“Ars musica” in Düsseldorf and Wuppertal

In the Tonhalle Düsseldorf , the state government's choir has been organizing the “ars musica” concert series under the direction of Franz Lamprecht with light classical music, but also major sacred works and opera choirs.

The Wuppertal Symphonic Choir organizes a series of concerts of the same name in the historic town hall of Wuppertal.

For organizational reasons, these concerts have now been taken over by the Klassik Konzert Gesellschaft.

In addition to the events in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf and the historic town hall in Wuppertal , there are regular concerts in the town hall in Hilden and in the Mariendom in Neviges .

Music festivals in Düsseldorf, Nordkirchen, Merode

Since 1994 the Klassik Konzert Gesellschaft has been organizing music festivals as open-air concerts with classical music, park illumination, colored water features and synchronous musical fireworks, until 2015 at the Spiegelweiher of Benrath Castle , since 1999 also at the moated castle Nordkirchen and in 2015 also at the moated castle Merode (Langerwehe) .

New from 2017 are the pre-Christmas chamber concerts with young up-and-coming artists in the "Schlösschen" of the district government in Düsseldorf.

Awards

In 1998 he was made an honorary citizen of Tîrgu Mureș because of his many years of service to the German-Romanian cultural exchange , and in October 2004 he was made an honorary citizen of Satu Mare .

In recognition of his music care work and his commitment to the German-Romanian cultural exchange, Franz Lamprecht received the Federal Cross of Merit on the ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on April 30, 2004 .
