Franz Ott (born March 2, 1910 in Ottenreuth , Austria-Hungary , † August 13, 1998 in Würzburg ) was a Catholic clergyman and German expellee politician .

Ott studied in Prague 1930-1935 theology . In 1935/36 he worked as a chaplain , in 1936/37 he did his military service in Czechoslovakia. In 1938 he registered for the Sudeten German Freikorps , later he became a member of the SA in Rothau . In 1940 he broke away from his ecclesiastical employer and worked for the National Socialist "Gaustudentenführer" in Prague. From 1942 to 1945 he was a soldier in the Wehrmacht . Shortly before the end of the war, he gave National Socialist perseverance speeches in hospitals .

From 1945 to 1947 Ott was a beneficiary in Bavaria , but his jurisdiction and permission to celebrate was withdrawn because of a sexual relationship with a young woman . After moving to Württemberg in 1947, he “sneaked into a vicariate in Esslingen with incomplete information ” (according to the official communication from the Rottenburg diocese ). The ecclesiastical offices were withdrawn from him on September 10, 1949 because the bishop's office in Rottenburg had retained his candidacy for the German Bundestag , which had not been approved by the Catholic Church .

In 1949 , Ott became a member of the Bundestag for the Notgemeinschaft Württemberg-Baden organization for expellees , as he won the Esslingen constituency by 1,001 votes and 28.0% of the valid votes cast over the SPD candidate Albert Pflüger . He first joined the WAV group (May 4, 1950), then the BHE / DG group (October 13, 1950) and switched to the DP on March 26, 1952 . However, this ruled him out again on June 26, 1952, after it became known that he had sexually molested at least one woman from the Bundeshaus in Bonn over the phone .

After the end of the legislative period in 1953, his political activity ended and he returned to church services, now in the diocese of Würzburg , where he worked as a clergyman and teacher of religion. In 1989 Ott was named monsignor .
