From 1688 to 1692 he studied theology at the University of Ingolstadt and was ordained a priest on April 4, 1692 in Eichstätt . In the autumn of the same year he began the three-year philosophy course (logic, physics, metaphysics) at the University of Innsbruck ; He was dean of the philosophy faculty there twice, namely in 1693 and 1695.
