Franz Seraph Kifinger

Franz Seraph Kifinger (born September 5, 1802 in Weidenbach , † November 22, 1864 in Munich ) was a German Roman Catholic pastor , teacher , writer and politician .

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1824, Franz Seraph Kifinger studied theology at the (today's) Wilhelmsgymnasium Munich at the University of Munich and was ordained a priest in 1828.

In December 1829 Kifinger was employed as a teacher in the first preparatory class at the Royal Catholic Study Institute near St. Stephan in Augsburg. In 1835 he became a senior teacher of the Latin School at this institution . He later worked as a pastor in Oberbergkirchen . In addition to his function as a member of the state parliament, he was a substitute in the royal scholarchat for Upper Bavaria. From March 1857, as officiator of the institution and freely resigned pastor, he led the school services at the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich , succeeding the priest Karl Arnold. From 1860 to 1864 he was professor of religion and ethics at the Royal Cadet Corps .

As a writer, he wrote instructive stories. He also wrote two reading books for Latin lessons and a widely published exercise book for reading manuscripts for students.

Kifinger was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1855 to 1858 .
