Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator (German for example Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeriensimulation, often abbreviated FFPS or FNaF 6 ) is the official sixth part of the series of games Five Nights at Freddy’s . The game was released on December 4th, 2017 and, like all previous parts, was developed by Scott Cawthon . Clickteam, the developers of the game engine from FFPS and its predecessors, released a port of the game for mobile devices in August 2019.

Pizzeria Simulator is the first part of the main series by Five Nights at Freddy's, which contains game segments that cannot be assigned to the horror genre. The usual horror segments are also included.

The game is a direct sequel to Five Nights at Freddy's 3 .

action

The game begins as a 2D-based mini-game in which the player controls Freddy Fazbear, a main character in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, and has the task of providing children with their own pizza. However, the mini-game soon ends in a glitch .

The player is then in a dark room with the Animatronic Circus Baby from Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location . However, since this is in a very bad state, it is called a scrap baby. A voice from a cassette instructs the player to observe the animatronic and to document the reactions to various audio stimulations. A checklist with the options “no”, “yes” and “unsure” must be completed. However, during the third audio stimulation, Baby suddenly starts speaking and moving, breaking the cassette and going black.

The real game then begins. A film plays that explains the game mechanics and the basics of the plot. The game character has become a franchisee of Fazbear Entertainment through the purchase of a starter pack and now has the task of building a pizzeria of the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza chain called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place . The starter package consists of the building, the pizzeria, and some tables. The player now has the option of furnishing the empty building with the money left over.

Once the set-up is complete, the pizzeria has to be prepared for the next working day, for example by printing menus, cleaning the ovens and ordering cups and plates. This is now done manually on a computer in a back room. As soon as everything is done, you can log out of the computer.

After completing all tasks, the player is back in the room he was in with his baby. This time, however, Molten Freddy can be found in the room , an animatronic that only consists of loose pieces of metal and cables with a face that resembles Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy's . The voice from the tape explains that behind the pizzeria, unusual things, like this animatronic, are often found whose components could be useful. Rescuing these therefore earns the player money. However, there is a risk that the animatronic could kill the player. You can now choose whether you want to try to recover the Animatronic or not.

The player is then presented with the pizzeria revenue for the day. This process is repeated every day, each time a different animatronic has to be retrieved. If an animatronic is recovered or if the recovery attempt fails, it must be fought off in the following days while the pizzeria is being prepared for the next day.

The game starts on Monday. Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is found on Tuesday, Scrap Baby again on Wednesday and Lefty on Thursday, a completely undamaged black and red animatronic bear that can also be bought for the pizzeria. Nothing needs to be recovered on Friday.

What then happens on Saturday is based on the decisions of the player. If he has not brought all four animatronics to the pizzeria, the voice from the cassette explains that his contract will be terminated because he has not fulfilled his obligations according to §4 of the contract. From the previous statements of the voice it is clear that this paragraph states that all suspicious animatronics must be brought to the pizzeria.

However, when the animatronics are all in the pizzeria, Baby begins to speak. She explains that the player helped the animatronics by bringing them all together. You could carry out your plan now. Suddenly, however, Baby is interrupted by the voice on the tape. She says baby, whom she calls Elizabeth, was wrong. The animatronics were not called to carry out their plan, but to be locked in a labyrinth of air shafts around the pizzeria. In doing so, they could sense the presence of potential victims in the pizzeria, but never reach them. They are so fixated on the search that they did not notice that they are locked up. The voice then declares that it wants to put an end to the animatronics once and for all. She then addresses the player, to whom she explains that there was an escape route for him, but she senses that he - like herself - wants to stay. As the voice speaks, a temperature gauge shows that the room is getting hotter.

You can then see pictures of the animatronics burning. The voice again appeals to them to release the souls trapped in them. She says there is still hope for most of them, but one is already awaited by Hell. You can see a picture of Springtrap.

Then the man who owns the voice speaks to his daughter. He thanks her for protecting the other animatronics and regrets her death. Meanwhile, pictures of puppet , a similarly to the animatronics moving puppet of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 , shown. An image that may appear after the player dies shows that the puppet is inside Lefty. Then the man ends the communication.

Then another film like the one from the beginning of the game is faded in. This apologizes for the false information about the pizzeria and explains that Fazbear Entertainment has now disbanded. Then the player is given a “Certificate of Completion”, which from now on can be found on the title screen of the game, to which the game now also returns.

Gameplay

Every day in the game starts in the pizzeria. There the player has the opportunity to buy furnishings for his pizzeria. This is done using four different catalogs, which offer products in different price ranges. A new catalog is activated when certain products from the last one have been purchased.

These products can be animatronics, amusement attractions such as rides or slot machines, and safety or health precautions. In addition, the building can be enlarged to create more space for these items. The items in the pizzeria influence their yield at the end of the day by changing the status values of the pizzeria. The status values are Atmosphere , Health & Safety , Entertainment , Revenue, and Risk . Different items affect the stats differently, but they can never lower them directly. Risk is the only negative value. The higher it is, the more likely the pizzeria will be sued, which will drive up costs. The health and safety value can lower the risk value if it is high enough.

The player also has ten tokens available every day , which can be used to test the attractions that are set up, which is done via mini-games . Depending on how these are performed, the rating of the pizzeria increases, which is reflected in a monetary amount of $ 100 as a reward every 1000 points. Setting up an attraction for the first time also increases the rating.

Once the restaurant has been set up for the day, the survival horror part of the game begins. The player sits at a computer and has to do a series of tasks in order to prepare the pizzeria for the coming day, for example printing menus or cleaning. All of these tasks can be done using the computer, but it will take some time. When all tasks are done, you can log off the computer, which ends the night. While the tasks are being carried out, animatronics attack, but they behave significantly differently than in previous games. All four animatronics have exactly the same movement pattern and are immediately repulsed and the player has a direct influence on which animatronics appear and whether at all. Animatronics only show up when the player has picked them up, either in one of the salvages at the end of a night or by purchasing a damaged, heavily discounted product by hiding an animatronic.

The animatronics move through a system of air shafts towards the player character, to whose left and right there are accesses to this system. They respond to noise, which is why it is possible to turn off the ventilation and computer to minimize noise. Without ventilation, however, the temperature rises, which eventually leads to fainting, and without a computer, tasks cannot be done. You can also use one of three computer functions. These are an audio player that can be played in the whole ventilation and distracts the animatronics, a motion detector that indicates the animatronics in the ventilation and a silent ventilation that makes no noise, but only slows the increase in temperature. Finally, there is a flashlight that fends off animatronics in one of the two air ducts at the office if it shines into them.

In the first four nights, this part of the game is followed by a rescue of an animatronics found behind the pizzeria. The player can decide whether he wants to retrieve the respective animatronic or not. If an animatronic is already in the restaurant before it is retrieved, a sign will be found in its place that indicates this item.

In order to recover an animatronic, its reaction to certain audio stimulations must be checked. If the player has the feeling that the animatronic is going to perform a jumpscare , he can suppress it with a taser . However, the animatronic loses its value if it is tasered more than three times, which reduces the amount of the salvage fee that is awarded in the event of a successful rescue. If the animatronic carries out a jump care, the recovery is considered to have failed, but it is still in the pizzeria afterwards.

At the end of each night, the pizzeria’s statistics for the day, such as number of visitors and sales, are displayed. In addition, the player is informed of any lawsuits against the pizzeria. These can either be resolved or combated.

development

On June 30, 2017, Scott Cawthon announced that development of the previously unannounced Five Nights at Freddy's 6 would be canceled. At the same time, however, he may want to produce a new offshoot for the series, for example in the form of an economic simulation of a pizzeria.

Over time, several teasers were released for play on the Cawthons website that Freddy Fazbear in 8 - bit - style in various activities such as juggling pizzas showed.

On December 2, 2017, a new teaser was shown on the site, according to which the game would be released in three days. In fact, it appeared two days later.

reception

The reviews were generally positive.

The user rating on Metacritic is 7.4 / 10. GameCrate raised the very good price-performance - money out of the free games.
