Frederick Holman
Frederick Holman (born March 1885 in Dawlish , † January 23, 1913 in Exeter ) was a British swimmer .
He won the gold medal in the 200m breaststroke at the Olympic Games in London in 1908 . At the same time he set a new world record in 3: 09.2 minutes. In 1913, Holman died of typhus at the age of 27 . He got the infectious disease from Exeter's swimming pools. In 1988 he was inducted into the hall of fame of international swimming .
