William Mulliken

William Danforth "Bill" Mulliken (born August 27, 1939 in Urbana , Illinois , † July 17, 2014 in Chicago ) was an American swimmer .

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , he was surprisingly Olympic champion over 200 m chest . It was the USA’s first Olympic win over this situation since 1924. After his career as a swimmer, Mulliken became a lawyer. In 1984 he was inducted into the international swimming sport hall of fame .
