Free network south
The Free Network South ( FNS ) was a substitute organization of the forbidden Association Franconian Action Front (FAF). It existed from 2009 until the ban on July 23, 2014 and was the largest neo-Nazi umbrella organization in Bavaria with around 20 right-wing extremist free comradeships, with a focus on Franconia .
The neo-Nazi minority party The III. According to the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution , Weg was founded with the significant participation of former NPD officials and activists of the Free Network South .
origin
The network came into being after the failed attempt to replace the board of the Bavarian NPD , which was considered to be moderate, with "National Socialists" and was in open opposition to the party structure of the NPD. Some of the leading activists were leaders of the Frankish Action Front (FAF), which was banned in 2004 .
In its self-portrayal, the FNS was not an umbrella organization, but an internet information platform. In addition to overviews of dates, information material, DVDs and clothing from the right-wing scene were also available on the website. However, the FNS also acted as the organizer of right-wing extremist demonstrations.
The FNS tried to occupy the subject of criticism of capitalism . For example, they put the demonstration held on May 1, 2009 in competition with the NPD May Day demonstration under the theme Overcoming mass unemployment - smashing capitalism .
According to the anti-fascist information, documentation and archives office in Munich , there were actions, leaflets, rallies and small demonstrations almost every week. Two major events were held annually with the participation of the FNS, including a demonstration on May 1st and a right-wing rock open air on the so-called Frankentag. In addition, there were non-public meetings, such as B. Training events. The anti-antifa work was also one of the activities of the FNS.
Matthias Fischer ( Fürth ), Tony Gentsch ( Oberprex / Regnitzlosau ) and Norman Kempken ( Nuremberg ) were among the leading figures . Endstation Rechts Bayern reported that Gentsch's family had acquired the Gasthof Restaurant zum Egerländer in Oberprex and that there had already been events organized by the Free Network South and Hammerskins . The property including the residential and farm buildings was confiscated with the association ban and confiscated in favor of Bavaria.
In 2009 FNS members founded the xenophobic Citizens' Initiative Social Fürth (BiSF).
The FNS also maintained contacts with other right-wing extremist organizations and parties abroad, such as the neo-Nazi Greek party Chrysi Avgi .
In April 2012, all of the parties elected to the Bavarian State Parliament voted for a ban on the FNS.
In summer 2012, members of the FNS wanted to establish a training and event location in Nuremberg-Langwasser . In addition, a citizens 'office of the Nuremberg city council of the right-wing extremist citizens' initiative Ausländerstopp , Sebastian Schmaus , should be set up there. However, this initially failed due to an intervention by the building authority. The FNS also works with the citizens' initiative in Munich.
In July 2013, police and 700 officers searched the homes and offices of members of the network. Computers, data media, propaganda material and some weapons were confiscated.
In August 2013, the municipality of Roden (Ansbach) canceled a planned festival under the name Europe awakes that members of the network wanted to organize.
Prohibition
On July 23, 2014, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior banned the FNS. At the same time, assets of third parties were also seized and confiscated, with which the anti-constitutional efforts of the FNS were deliberately promoted. This concerned, on the one hand, the property at Oberprex 47 in Regnitzlosau and, on the other hand, items from the Final Resistance dispatch . The dispatch department supported the FNS from this property by providing agitation and propaganda material and using the proceeds to finance actions. The dispatch had been operated since the end of 2013 by the two leading FNS activists Matthias Fischer and Tony Gentsch in the form of a civil law society . However, the ban does not apply to the individual groups and comradeships that were organized in the FNS.
41 participants in the FNS appealed against the prohibition before the Bavarian Administrative Court, arguing that the FNS was not an association and that a prohibition of associations was therefore inadmissible; an oral hearing took place on October 13, 2015; of the plaintiffs, only Norman Kempken and Tony Gentsch attended the meeting. The Higher Administrative Court dismissed this action with a judgment of October 20, 2015.
At the end of September 2013, however, the neo-Nazi micro-party Der III. Weg , whose symbols have already been used by FNS activists and which, after the ban on the FNS, which, according to Thomas Witzgall from Endstation Rechts, was ultimately only "an empty shell", can be used by its supporters as a platform for further activities .
