Epsingsen is a district of Soest in Westphalia . Today (2008) Epsingsen has 74 inhabitants.
history
Unlike most of the names in the area, the name Epsingsen is not derived from -ingsen from -inghausen, as the oldest mention of 1232 ( Eppediscinc ) shows. The name means something like "the court belonging to the abbess", whereby the name already indicates that the place belonged to the possession of the Meschede monastery . In the Middle Ages, Epsingsen probably formed together with Meiningsen the Free County of Epsingsen (ecclesiastically part of the Meiningsen parish ) before it came to the city of Soest in 1594 and has since belonged to the Oberbörde .
On July 1, 1969, Epsingsen was incorporated into the district town of Soest by the Soest / Beckum law .
